French Montana Fan Dies
in Drive-By Shooting Friday…
One person died and another is wounded after a drive-by shooting following French Montana’s sold-out concert in Philadelphia last night. The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. after an altercation took place in front of Montana’s parked tour bus. Police say there were a number of people parked in cars, including some fans who had followed the rapper to the hotel following his performance at the Theatre of the Living Arts on South Street. A large crowd of fans, as well as some of the entourage, were present when, according to some of the witnesses, a car drove by and opened fire,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small. A 27-year-old man was shot in the stomach and later pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital. A second victim was driven by private vehicle to a nearby hospital with a bullet wound to the shoulder. Police found an abandoned car with gunshot holes near the hospital. They don’t know if the person shot drove themselves there or if someone else drove them, and then took off. According to police, several people who were taken into custody had loaded semi automatic handguns. More than two dozen people - fans, band mates and some of the rappers entourage - were taken in for questioning. The shooting remains under investigation. So far, no homicide charges have been filed.
